    Empowering

    Zambian communities - now through
    Cecily's Fund

  • Kaloko Trust UK handover to Cecily's Fund

Kaloko Trust UK has closed (our final Trustee Report is here). Much of the work to relieve poverty and improve lives in rural communities of Zambia which we previously supported has been handed to Cecily's Fund.

Closure of Kaloko Trust UK and transfer of projects to Cecily's Fund

Kaloko Trust UK has closed and stopped its support for partner projects in Zambia. Cecily’s Fund has taken over KTUK's programme assets and continues to support our partners in Zambia and the communities we worked with for over thirty years.

Read more about Cecily's Fund's work here.

We encourage our supporters to transfer their support to Cecily's Fund who are continuing our work with the same communities in rural Zambia.

We believe in the power of partnership.

Kaloko Trust works with local partners and communities to improve access to sufficient food, water, health, education and income for some of the world’s most vulnerable people, through effective, appropriate and sustainable development projects.

We have been working to relieve poverty in the Luansobe area of the Copperbelt Region in rural Zambia since 1989 and believe that long-term sustainable development can only occur where the issues that cause poverty are addressed through an integrated approach, harnessing the power of partnership.

    Which communities we work with

    Luansobe area of the Copperbelt

Kaloko Trust works in Luansobe/Kashitu, a remote rural area in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. It lies 250km north of Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, and its population of approximately 37,000 is spread over small farms across 1,200 square kilometres. Transport is difficult, with the area served largely by a network of winding dirt tracks. Basic services are poor, with no central provision of safe drinking water, and few schools or health centres. The nearest city, Ndola, lies about 70km NE from the Kaloko campus. All Kaloko staff live in the rural community around Luansobe.
