When the Covid-19 pandemic started to spread, Kaloko was keen to take steps to improve hygiene facilities for the communities we work with in Zambia.
With funding from Just a Drop, Kaloko this year supplied water tanks, stands, bowls and soap for frontline health-workers serving five rural health centres and twenty-four health outposts in the Copperbelt and Central provinces. These facilities serve an estimated 150,000 people.
We were also able to supply protective masks and aprons. Together these are providing health workers and those seeking medical help with improved handwashing facilities, and some measure of protection against the spread of Covid-19.
