Brighton Marathon fundraisers

A big thank you to our generous runners

· Sanitation,Health,Fundraising

We’re excited to let you know that our three runners successfullycompleted this year’s Brighton Marathon on 12 September, all very generouslyraising funds for Kaloko’s work in Zambia. Gabriella Heaney, Hannah Gaudry and Kate Vickery all did amazingly, and completed the course with impressive times – even though it was, unfortunately, 568 metres longer than a marathon should be! Gabriella ran it in 3 hours 26 minutes, Hannah in 4 hours 27 minutes and Kate in 5 hours 31 minutes.

They said they found it a tough challenge but it had beengreat raising money for the Kaloko Trust. Their fundraising page https://www.justgiving.com/kalokois still open so please do support them with a donation if you can.

The funds raised are being used to build vital new latrinesat Luansobe Primary School where 958 pupils are sharing four toilets and onewashing point. Kaloko will build two sanitation blocks incorporating toilets, handwashing points and sanitary equipment, a project which will be a massive help, improving the health and educational attainment of students, particularly girls.

Thanks so much Kate, Hannah and Gabriella!
